How to Request an Update to Existing Marketplace Items

In the life cycle of a product, there are many reasons why a Marketplace Creator may wish to edit or update work that is already for sale on the Marketplace. When it comes to requesting an update to existing marketplace items, follow these steps to have your item updated.

Art/Map Tile Packs

For very small changes (updating the banner image, small text description edits), simply email team@roll20.net with a link to the Marketplace item and attach what you would like to change.

For large changes, such as a complete pack refresh, email team@roll20.net with a link to the Marketplace item. The team will put that product back in "Draft" status, which will allow you to edit it completely. After you're completed with your changes, send the pack back for approval through the typical Upload process under your Item Management. Please give a short summary of what was changed (such as "updated shading layer on all tokens") to avoid any delays.

While in "Draft" status, your product may be taken off the Marketplace depending on the type of edits required.

NOTE: Deleting out any files will remove them from the library of the purchasers, but not any assets that are already placed on the VTT. For a complete pack refresh, it may be best to create a new Marketplace Pack and take down the former one, allowing those that purchased it to keep using the assets they purchased.

Token Markers

For any changes, email team@roll20.net with a link to the Marketplace pack, a description of what needs to be updated, as well as any files (or a link to a Dropbox with the files)

Addons

To update an addon, you will need to work from a copy of the original addon. While updating, please note that nothing can be DELETED from an Addon. Any existing handouts, maps, characters, etc can be edited, but not removed completely.

If you absolutely need to delete an asset, we will need to completely replace the Marketplace item and transfer purchases to the new item. You may create a new Marketplace Product with the new addon, and provide a link to the pack it needs to replace.

For patching addons, email team@roll20.net with a link to the Marketplace item, a short summary of the update, and a link to the updated game.

Modules

To update an module, you will need to work from a copy of the original module. Please note that editing tokens on maps, or character sheets may overwrite edits in individual games, so please do so with caution.

For patching addons, email team@roll20.net with a link to the Marketplace item, a short summary of the update, and a link to the updated game.
